Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) is a partner in the IANUS consortium. AUTH is the largest university in Greece, comprising 10 faculties that consist of 40 schools and 1 single-School Faculty. The strategic objectives of AUTh, in the framework of its vision and mission, remain high and consistently oriented to the continuation of its tradition, namely to be a pioneer institution, standing out among Greek and many foreign Universities on all levels: education, research, culture, connection with society.
AUTH is represented in IANUS by the Department of Informatics and its Data and Web Science Lab (DATALAB), coordinated by Prof. Athena Vakali. DATALAB is an active research group engaged in research and innovation on ICT complex data science and engineering technologies, offering end-to-end multi way and multi scope analytics. DATALAB also has expertise in massive data management, big data analytics, social networks mining, ML and AI to support human-centred analytics, and human-centered approaches in science, technology, and innovation. Trustworthy AI and media, indicatively as interconnected under the lens of misinformation, disinformation, data journalism, and media literacy, are also among the research interests of the lab.
