IANUS partner AcumenIST is going to host the upcoming project meeting, taking place in Brussels, Belgium, during 23-24th of April, 2024.
With the IANUS project approaching its concluding year, the two-day event will ensure coherence between the conceptual analysis of trust and distrust developed during the earlier phases of IANUS and the ‘action research’ to be conducted in the following months, with the ultimate objective to understand how to gain, maintain and lose public confidence in science, technology and innovation.
Experts and representatives from the project’s partner organizations will gather at the Résidence Palace is the International Press Centre (IPC) of Brussels, right next door to the European Council. Indeed, the event will take place the administrative centre of the European Union, the beautiful Belgian capital, close to the principal EU institutions, such as the European Parliament, Council, and Commission.
For this occasion, we will be hosted by Ianus partner Dr Steffi Friedrichs, founder & director of AcumenIST, an innovative consultancy initiative provided by experienced business leaders with a pronounced track record in scientific research and in public and regulatory affairs. Dr Friedrichs has been a leading expert, policy advisor and business representative for emerging technological innovation for over 20 years and has contributed to the IANUS project with analyses of weak signals in the study of trends and indicators of ‘trust in science.’
In a world facing ever-increasing societal challenges, trust in science is paramount. We’re committed to make a positive impact on the communication, understanding, and implementation of science, to ensure that trust in science is well-placed, reciprocal, and informed. The IANUS General Assembly is not only a chance for partners to pave the way to the final months and steps of the project, but also to reflect on the impact of IANUS’ overall journey and mission.
