Introducing IANUS partner, Fraunhofer ISI

Research and innovation are increasingly called upon to contribute to overcoming societal challenges. The Competence Center Policy and Society at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI examines the resulting requirements for research and innovation systems, as well as for the design of a research, technology and innovation policy committed to sustainability and societal well-being and its coordination with other policy fields. It analyzes the various actors, institutions, instruments and mechanisms in science, government, business and society that generate knowledge and innovation from a holistic perspective.

In the IANUS project, we are therefore responsible for the policy labs that derive concrete recommendations for central actors of the science system to increase trust in science based on the project results. Currently, we are involved in a joint development of a concept of “trust in science” and are investigating possible conflicts of interest that have a negative impact on the trust relationship between science and society.
