The IANUS project’s goals were presented by Reda Cimmperman from the Research Council of Lithuania at the Spring meeting of the Secretaries of the National Advisory Councils for Science and Technology Policy, held on 4-5 May 2023 in Prague. The event commenced with an inspiring and motivating welcome speech by Minister Helena Langšádlová, Chairperson of the Research, Development, and Innovation Council. The meeting focused on knowledge security and the boundaries of open science.
One particularly remarkable session during the event was led by Ladislav Krištoufek, delving deep into the subject of knowledge security and the limitations of open science. The insights provided were truly impressive and thought-provoking. Additionally, Ivana Karásková captivated the audience with her groundbreaking study titled “How to do trusted research: China-Specific guidelines for European stakeholders“ offering valuable and insightful perspectives. David Honys presented the Trusted Research Agenda and Open Science, shedding light on important aspects of the topic, while Chris Eveleens introduced the concept of knowledge in conflict and skillfully emphasized the need for a balance between security and liberty.
Being present at such an event was a wonderful experience, as it allowed for engagement with a highly knowledgeable and insightful group of professionals, reinforcing the importance of establishing trust in science, research, and innovation.
